Firmware Updates

Firmware updates keep SmartCore secure, stable, and feature-rich. Updates are free and available directly through the Web Interface.

Checking for Updates

1. Open the Web Interface by accessing your SmartCore here and navigate to Settings > System > Update
2. Click Check for Updates
3. If an update is available, it will be displayed with the new version number and release notes

Installing Updates

1. From the Update page, click Update
2. SmartCore will download and install the firmware
3. The device will reboot automatically during the installation
4. Do not unplug or restart SmartCore during this process

Most updates take 5-10 minutes to complete.

Update Notifications

Check the Atios website regularly for announcements about new firmware versions, bug fixes, and feature releases.

Beta Updates

To test new features before they are released:

1. Navigate to Settings > System > Beta Version Channel
2. Toggle Beta Version Channel to On
3. SmartCore will check for beta updates
4. Beta versions may be less stable than stable releases

WARNING

Only enable beta updates if you are comfortable with potential instability or if you are testing on a non-critical system.

Troubleshooting Update Issues

If an update fails or SmartCore does not restart after an update:

1. Wait 5 minutes for the reboot to complete
2. Try accessing the Web Interface again
3. If still unresponsive, power cycle SmartCore by unplugging and replugging the power cable
4. If the issue persists, contact Atios support

WARNING

Never unplug SmartCore during a firmware update, as this can corrupt the firmware.
