Factory Reset

Factory Reset restores SmartCore to its original factory settings. This erases all configurations, pairings, and device settings.

WARNING

Factory Reset cannot be undone. All data will be lost. Export your configuration before resetting if you need to preserve it.

When to Use Factory Reset

Use Factory Reset when:

  • Troubleshooting persistent configuration issues
  • Preparing to sell or give away SmartCore
  • Recovering from corrupted settings
  • Starting fresh with a new network setup

Method 1: Via Web Interface

  1. Open the Web Interface by accessing your SmartCore here and navigate to Settings > System > Actions
  2. Click Factory Reset
  3. Review the warning message
  4. Confirm the reset
  5. SmartCore will reboot and return to factory settings
  6. The Web Interface will reset to default configuration

Method 2: Via Hardware Button

  1. Locate the hardware reset button on the SmartCore device
  2. Press and hold the button for 10 seconds
  3. SmartCore will begin rebooting
  4. The LED will flash to indicate the reset process
  5. After reboot, SmartCore is returned to factory settings

The hardware button reset is useful if you cannot access the Web Interface.

After Factory Reset

After resetting:

  1. SmartCore will have default network settings (DHCP-enabled Ethernet connection)
  2. All device configurations are erased
  3. All HomeKit and Matter pairings are removed
  4. You must reconnect to your network and reconfigure devices
  5. If you exported your configuration, you can import it to restore settings

Re-configuring SmartCore

To get SmartCore working again after a factory reset:

  1. Connect to your network via Ethernet or WiFi
  2. Access the Web Interface at https://setup.atios.ch
  3. Configure Network Settings if needed
  4. Add devices in the Accessory Manager
  5. Enable HomeKit or Matter in System Settings
  6. Pair with your preferred apps

If you have a backed-up configuration file, you can skip the manual setup by using Import Configuration in System Settings.
