Migrating from KNXprod v0.5 to v1.0
With firmware v2.6.0, the Atios KNX Bridge officially supports its full KNX-DALI Gateway functionality, and the ETS application moves from the legacy KNXprod v0.5 (beta) to v1.0 (stable).
This guide is for you if you commissioned a project using the beta firmware and KNXprod v0.5. Before you can program new changes from ETS, you need to migrate the project to KNXprod v1.0.
When you need this guide
Only projects that were built on the beta firmware with KNXprod v0.5 need to migrate. New projects on firmware v2.6.0+ already use v1.0 out of the box — no action needed.
Why v1.0 is a breaking change
The new KNX Application v1.0 introduces structural improvements required for KNX Secure support. Because of these internal changes, ETS cannot automatically upgrade v0.5 projects — the migration has to be done manually.
We decided to make this change now so the transition to KNX Secure in a future firmware release goes smoothly.
Before you start
You'll need:
- Physical access to the KNX Bridge (to confirm updates applied correctly)
- Your existing ETS project file open
- The physical address of the current KNX Bridge written down (you'll re-enter it on the new device)
Back up your project
Duplicate your ETS project before starting the migration. If anything goes wrong, you can fall back to the v0.5 copy.
Step 1 — Update the KNX Bridge firmware
- Open the Web Interface of your Atios KNX Bridge.
- In System Settings → Firmware, switch the firmware channel to Stable.
- Update to version v2.6.0 or newer.
- After the update completes, open the settings page and click Version 1.0 to activate the new KNX application.
Step 2 — Migrate the project in ETS
In ETS, open the Online Catalogue and update it so the latest Atios entries load. You should see the new Atios KNX Bridge v1.0 listed under manufacturer Atios AG.
In your ETS project, right-click the existing Atios KNX Bridge (legacy v0.5) and park it in the topology. Do not delete it — you'll want it for reference.
TIP
Write down the physical address of the parked device before this step. You'll assign it to the new device in step 3.
From the catalogue, add the new Atios KNX Bridge v1.0 to your topology and assign it the same physical address as the legacy device.
Manually reassign all group addresses and reapply your settings from v0.5 to v1.0.
INFO
We apologise for the extra work — ETS cannot carry v0.5 settings across to v1.0 automatically because the structure changed.
Right-click the new device and select Download → Download Application to program your KNX Bridge.
Your device is now fully migrated to KNXprod v1.0.
What you gain
- Detailed functional descriptions in the ETS database
- Tunnel addresses are remembered — the IP Interface no longer prompts repeatedly
- KNX Secure readiness — your device is ready for the next firmware update that enables Secure
